The Mall Patrol Java Game

In The Mall Patrol you play the role of the Policeman who must overcome obstacles and apprehend the thief running in the mall, within the given time frame.

There are 4 floors in the mall and the thief is moving towards the topmost floor. Use the central elevator to navigate between the floors. The escalators at either end of the mall can be used to ascend (only) to the upper floor. Use the elevator carefully – it just might make your job easier! You must evade the various obstacles such as the bouncing football, shopping cart and cathedral radios by jumping over them. Collision with any of these results in 5 seconds being wiped off the time left. Also, be careful of the toy planes - a hit from them will result in the loss of a life and the level will begin again. The only option is to duck under the toy plane when it approaches.

Bonus points can be accumulated by collecting the briefcase and the money bags that appear at certain points. Every 1000 points grants an extra life. The map of the mall at the bottom of the screen can be used to keep track of the thief (white dot), the policeman (blue dot) and the elevator (green dot). If you fail to catch the thief in the time frame, then a life is lost and the game begins from the same level. The game ends when no lives are remaining.
